Aflux 16 is a processing promoter supplied by Rhein Chemie (Lanxess) and is used in polymeric rubber compounds, primarily based on EPDM and IIR. It is formulated using calcium salts of natural fatty acids in combination with amide ester waxes. The product is designed to support rubber processing by improving compound flow and reducing viscosity during mixing, extrusion, and moulding operations.
Aflux 16 assists in reducing sticking of rubber compounds to metal surfaces such as mixing equipment, rolls, rotors, and moulds. This contributes to smoother processing and improved handling during extrusion and injection moulding. The material is suitable for use in compounds with complex mould geometries, where improved mould flow and demoulding are required.
The product can be incorporated at various stages of the mixing cycle, offering flexibility during compounding. Aflux 16 is supplied in granular form and is commonly used in industrial rubber processing environments where consistent processability and clean release behaviour are required.
