Carnauba Wax is a naturally occurring wax from Brazil. It is used in rubber compounding as an additive to improve ease in releasing from mould, better surface properties, etc.
Lab Line Enterprises sells Carnauba Wax from Pontes, Italy.
-Carnuaba wax is also known as Palm wax and Brazil wax. It is a very hard wax obtained from the leaves of the palm 'copernicia prunifera'. It is then grinded and processed to fine powder or flakes to be used in rubber compounding.
- fine yellowish powder
- Carnauba Wax helps in faster, smoother and cooler extrusion of FKM compounds (Viton Compounds).
- It is known to improve surface finish of the rubber articles.
- Carnauba Wax is a highly effective internal mould release agent for Flouroelastomers (FKM) like Viton.
- Carnauba wax does not interfere with the processing safety, curing rate, physical properties of the vulcanizate.
- Up to 2phr is does not interfere with metal-to-rubber adhesion also.
- Can be used in in FKM compounds (Viton) for the applications including Seals, O-rings, Moulded Components, Hoses, Cords, Diaphragms, Tubes, etc.
- Typically 0.5 to 1phr
