Chlorinated paraffin wax (CPW) is produced by chlorinating straight-chained paraffin wax fractions.
Chlorinated Paraffin Wax (CPW) is insoluble in water, alcohols, glycerol and glycols. However, soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, ketones, mineral oils, esters, ethers and cutting oils.

Uses:
- Chlorinated Paraffin Wax (CPW) is used widely as a secondary plasticizer in flexible PVC compounds
- Chlorinated Paraffin Wax (CPW) is a commonly used flame retardant. It is a cost efficient flame retardant and is often used to partially replace more expensive primary flame-retardants.
- Chlorinated Paraffin Wax (CPW) is used in paints as a plasticizer for binders and resins.
