Chemlok® 220LF is a solvent-borne covercoat adhesive formulated to be applied over Chemlok® 205 primer for high-performance metal-to-rubber bonding during vulcanization. Designed for a wide range of elastomers — including natural rubber (NR), SBR, CR, NBR and polyisoprene (IR) — Chemlok 220LF offers excellent environmental resistance (heat, water, salt spray, oils and many chemicals) and is formulated without heavy metals. It applies easily by spray, dip, brush or roll and cures during normal rubber vulcanization cycles for durable bonded assemblies.

Reliable, high-strength metal-to-rubber bonds when used with Chemlok 205 primer.
Good resistance to heat, water, salt spray, oils and many chemicals.
Environmentally preferred formulation (no heavy metals).
Easy to apply by common industrial methods (spray/dip/brush/roll).
Bonding elastomer components to steel, aluminum and other rigid substrates for automotive, power generation, industrial vibration isolators, hose assemblies, seals/gaskets and molded bonded parts.
Primer + Covercoat: Use Chemlok® 205 primer first, allow it to dry fully, then apply Chemlok® 220LF as covercoat. Typical dry film thickness: Chemlok 205 — 5.1–10.5 µm; Chemlok 220LF — 12.7–25.4 µm. For spray application, dilute with Reducer 102. Typical spray dilution: 25–50% Reducer 102. Allow 45–60 min room temperature drying (or use moderate oven drying 65–93°C) before molding. Actual film thickness, dilution and drying conditions must be optimized for rubber compound and molding process.
