Innovox 95 is a fine particle size, dust-suppressed grade of calcium oxide containing up to 5% mineral oil. It is supplied as an off-white powder and is designed for use as a desiccant in elastomeric and thermoplastic polymer processing.
Water or moisture is commonly present in rubber compounds, PVC plastisols, thermoplastic formulations, and recycled polymers. During high-temperature processing above 100°C, residual moisture can generate steam, leading to porosity and blister formation. Innovox 95 functions as a moisture scavenger, absorbing water within the compound during mixing and processing.
The product is manufactured by Birch Chemicals and is made in the UK. All properties are measured on untreated calcium oxide.
