OBSH Chemical Blowing Agent (CAS 80-51-3) | Rubber & Polymer Foaming Applications

OBSH chemical blowing agent powder for rubber and polymer foaming
Product Overview

OBSH is an organic chemical blowing agent chemically identified as 4,4’-Oxybis(benzenesulfonylhydrazide), widely used in rubber and polymer foaming applications. It is suitable for natural and synthetic sponge rubber as well as cellular plastics such as EVA copolymers, LDPE, and PVC. OBSH decomposes within a processing temperature range of approximately 140–170°C, releasing nitrogen gas as the primary blowing medium.

The material is supplied as a white to off-white powder and is characterized by controlled gas evolution and low volatility under specified conditions. Due to its odorless and non-staining decomposition residue, OBSH is suitable for light-colored and electrically sensitive applications. It does not release ammonia during decomposition, making it applicable in cable insulation and related electrical components.

OBSH is used in both batch and continuous processing systems, including extrusion, molding, and press curing processes. Decomposition characteristics can be modified in specific formulations using suitable additives, depending on processing requirements. The product is supplied against official technical documentation and is intended for industrial and R&D use where controlled cellular structure formation is required.
